Hey everyone! Hope Wednesday has been kind to you. I want to comment on W's speech last night. I thought it was excellent, though I think my boy needs a haircut. Anyways, I specifically liked how he didnt bow to any pressure on Iraq, but rather gave a thinly veiled warning to anyone (insurgents?) that try and force American to its knees. His speech showed strength and conviction and served as a reminder to people that war is never easy. There are going to be bumps and missteps along the way, but the course must be maintained. By showing that he and his administration mean business, Bush has taken the public opinion momentum away from the outlaw terrorists.
His message was clear, tough and concise and in total juxtaposition to John Kerry, the flip flop specialist.
Make no mistake, America is in for the long haul. I also like that he mentioned and discounted the comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam. The Democrats would love for this image to stick as it plays right into their hippie, war protestor hands. What they dont realize is that comparison has to be hard on the moral of the troops, perhaps the Democrats are doing this on purpose? If so, they have sunk even lower and keep in mind that this is difficult to do when you have John F- - - - Kerry at the helm. I think I had mentioned that he called Sadr's militia "legitimate". I am not going to get started on this nonsense.
On a happier note, there has been more evidence undercoverd in the Martha Stewart saga. It seems the juror, Chappell Hartridge, who had previously shown a bias against the wealthy, also forgot to mention that he had previous problems with cocaine and embezzling money from a Little League outfit. It seems to me that a new trial should be in order if the jurors were not all on the up and up. Good news indeed.
FREE MARTHA!!
I am out for now, there is hockey on and it needs to be watched. Then its outside to stake out the garden.
